Simply Desserts was a product of a Usability and Information Architecture class. Our assignment was to build a website that acted as an "information resource" for any topic of our choice. My group and I decided to center ours around desserts. In particular, we were trying to create a dessert hub for all San Diegans with a sweet tooth. Below is my design process from concept to end result
User interviews
We interviewed different types of potential users (Dessert Snobs, Tourists/Points-of-Interest, and Home Bakers). From our user interviews, we consolidated what type of information we wanted to put on our website and how we wanted to portray that information. The resulting end product, "Simply Desserts," is a website to find information on desserts in general, dessert businesses in San Diego, and resources for those who like to create their own desserts in their own kitchen.
